Many years ago, a mutual requested I draw a tropical mermaid meeting a deep sea mermaid. My initial rendition included a kind of tender first touch that carried forward into this version. The design of the deep sea mermaid is inspired by the stygiomedusa gigantea or Giant Phantom Jellyfish. The tropical mermaid’s design is inspired by Angelfish.
